Portfolio refers to ‘in house’ inventory available solely to owner occupants and bank assets available to the community without the stringent requirements currently in place due to Wall Street jitters.
Should AmeriFirst not currently own the desired property, successful applicants will be allowed to request that AmeriFirst purchase the property and immediately ‘lease to own’ directly to the applicant.
The decision making process on whether or not an applicant may enter the program is made here and now by our local Board.
The end result will be affordable housing for both existing homeowners living in fear that there will never be ‘another day’ and potential homebuyers fruitlessly bidding against cash investors.
An added benefit to the program is that those that are on the ‘fringe’ of becoming homeowners due to low scores, income challenges or lack of sufficient cash investment needed will become homeowners sooner rather than later.
